About Orient 499

In 2006, Frank Luca and Aida Kawas founded a 100% conceived, designed and produced Lebanese brand. Featuring perfectly imperfect pieces, Orient 499 works with many local artisans sharing ideas with them and overseeing the production of products, from coppersmiths to glass artisans, soap makers, woodmen, embroiderers and couturiers and many more.

AIDA KAWAS

Aida has extensive experience in the artisanal world. Nostalgic at heart, she has always been deeply interested in handmade items, and fascinated by handicrafts from around the world. With more than 30 years of experience as a fashion designer, Aida works closely with artisans and designers to curate exclusive pieces and garments, sharpness and elegance reflected in her taste and item selection.

FRANK LUCA
Frank has a background in advertising and directs design, marketing and logistics departments with panache and his sharp sense of business. As he grew up with antique dealer parents, he was always surrounded by beauty - traveling around the world, and this has defined his taste and forged his passion for items that tell a story.
